Can't they voice it in a different, nicer way like – "that feels nice" when they do something you like, let them know… Instead of "hey, I prefer it this way, don't stop" (if they're so touchy/shy about it)… if you say a girl is good at something they get all offended because that's like calling them easy, and Men don't want their pride getting hurt, but that's how you have a good sex life. Good communication. No wonder so many of them are virgins at 50.

Fuck! I mean, I've loved and been interested in Japan and it's culture in general but HOT DAMN they have social rules. It just sounds exhausting… None of the things I've watched or heard about show this society as being transparent or based on will. It's more of a superficial, sexist, punitive and discriminatory set of rules! And I KNOW there are genuine people in this country. Of course! That's what I'd love to hear about, people that go against this typa culture, people that fight for their individuality when it comes to opinions and things as intimate as relationships! If anyone knows a channel, a video, a book, a series, whatever, that displays what I'm looking for, please please let me know. I'm deeply interested in the country not just on the superficial image we have as Western people. And while I know we must absolutely respect different cultures from our own (my own culture is very different to just be explained as "Western", I'm Colombian!), it's just confusing to imagine there's a chance a Japanese person won't ever be truly genuine to me. Heck, to think a Japanese man wouldn't be genuine and honest even IN A RELATIONSHIP or in bed, and that I wouldn't be able to be honest, straightforward, disagree, or express my needs (in bed or outside of it) without hurting their pride or accidentally disrispecting them in the process!
When do things get to a profound level when it comes to conversation about important topics (not necessarily political)? Or is everything that goes beyond casual and on the surface considered taboo, rude, "slutty", gold-digger like, or just plain negative? Ugh, I've wanted to get into this way of thinking and the general notion of things the Japanese way to try to understand it, taking the cultural difference as an important viewpoint, and I've always hated Western people's (American mostly, not American as in people from the US but as in people from THE CONTINENT, America) way of shoving their own cultures on Asian countries, specially Japan. So I don't know, I feel so conflicted. I'd love to read other people's thoughts.
