Dr. Jordan B. Peterson is a clinical psychologist and professor emeritus at the University of Toronto. From 1993 to 1998 he served as assistant and then associate professor of psychology at Harvard. He spent fifteen years writing Maps of Meaning: The Architecture of Belief (1999; released in June 2018 as a now bestselling author-read audiobook). Maps of Meaning is a scholarly investigation into the nature of narrative and religious thought, the structure of perception, the regulation of emotion, and the motivation for atrocity in the service of ideology. Ok that suggests to me that we have evolved and not created ( one suggestion is that without god we would turn into animals and butcher each other) so if we are able to develop ways to interact with each other in a social group .A stable morality developed over time…… the further we develop the less we need God……. IMHO the poor people of the world living in corrupt societies and live with the possibility that they can't feed their families need God even if it comes with the price of obedience and accepting there are no other options for you if you want to go to paradise………Developed countries have a stable life and secular laws that apply to everyone…… so now we begin to question the stories, some quite ridiculous, and the belief is not the number one priority as in underdeveloped countries…..Voltaire said that if there was no god we would have to invent one…..
